Winter comes with a long list of problems. In the barn there are frozen poop piles, chilled animals, frozen water and much more feed. For me there are all the extra clothes and fingers so cold they hurt. Despite it all, I love being in the barn in the winter. Often the animals are so happy to see me that they pronk and leap around like a group of playful kids.
This is Eddie. Edie is our gelding. He is happy in the winter because he has a very dense coat and is not over heated like he is in the summer. Eddie has very nice fiber that has given us blue and purple ribbons.
